Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 June 2026. This policy explains how Labour On Demand handles your personal information, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
1. Who we are
Labour On Demand operates labourondemand.com.au - a marketplace connecting casual workers with moving and removals companies in Australia. References to “we”, “us”, or “our” mean Labour On Demand.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account information
- Name, email address, and password (stored hashed).
- Phone number (optional, for shift coordination).
- Location: suburb, state, and postcode (for matching and shift search).
- Profile photo (optional).
2.2 Worker profile information
- Work history, skills, experience years, and preferred job categories.
- ABN (if supplied).
- Verification documents: copies of identity documents, police check certificates, White Cards, and driver’s licences submitted for verification.
- Availability, transport, and licence class information.
2.3 Company information
- Business name, ABN, and description.
- Business address and contact details.
- Logo (optional).
2.4 Platform activity
- Job postings, applications, and hiring decisions.
- Reviews and ratings you give and receive.
- Messages sent through the in-platform messaging system.
- Shift records (completed shifts, no-shows, cancellations).
2.5 Technical information
- IP address, browser type, device information, and usage logs collected automatically when you use the platform.
- Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 8).
3. How we use your information
- To operate and improve the platform and matching functionality.
- To verify your identity or credentials when you request verification badges.
- To display your public profile to other users of the platform (workers to companies and vice versa).
- To send transactional emails: shift notifications, application updates, and reviews.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- To comply with our legal obligations under Australian law.
- To send you product updates or promotional content (you can unsubscribe at any time).
4. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Other platform users: your public profile (name, rating, verified badges, suburb, and reviews) is visible to registered users. Contact details are shared only after a hiring connection is made.
- Service providers: we use third-party services for hosting and database (Supabase / AWS), application hosting and privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel), and email delivery. These providers process data only on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information to comply with a court order, law enforcement request, or legal process.
5. Sensitive information
Verification documents (identity documents, police check certificates) are handled as sensitive information. We collect these only with your consent, store them securely, and use them solely for the purpose of issuing verification badges. Raw document images are not displayed to other users.
6. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. When you close your account from Settings, we delete your profile and associated personal information immediately, except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records). Closing your account is permanent and cannot be undone.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure - please protect your own account credentials.
8. Cookies and analytics
We use strictly necessary cookies to maintain your session and authentication state. We also use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to understand aggregate usage and performance; these are cookieless and do not track you across other sites. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
9. Your rights
Under Australian privacy law you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Complain if you believe we have mishandled your information.

10. Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy concern, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or an in-app notice. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
